Promptings of the Spirit and Homeschooling

I know this is a shock!! It's a new post!!   I know, I know.....I've been a horrible blogger for the last two years.  It's been on my mind and I've thought about it everyday.   Maybe my life was better when I was blogging because I thought up cool things to do just so I could blog about them. Right now though I have a few new things in my life (struggles you might say) that need to be told because I think that other people might be having these same struggles too.  Maybe, just maybe others need to hear that they are not alone.

So first story first!  Every year since my oldest daughter had started school my husband and I have looked at each other and said, "We should probably home school her." Yet, every year when it is time for school to start we enrolled her in public school.  This was mostly because we had no idea whatsoever about home schooling or how to do it or where to start.  It was just so overwhelming!

Well, about 2 months before school ended for the year, I was home along on a Thursday.  I was sorting laundry and really didn't have anything particular on my mind. The house was quite, rare for sure, but since all the kids were at school, it was peaceful (yea, you know what I mean).  So anyway, there I was knee deep in the laundry sorting it into color piles when all of a sudden I hear a voice in my mind say "You are going to have to home school her."  Now I had no doubt at all about who "her" was.  I knew in my heart of hearts it meant our oldest girl E."  I answered the voice not every nicely by saying, "I really don't think so."  Then I started mentally listing the reasons why I could never do such a thing as home school! E and I don't exactly see eye to eye on things.  However, the voice, The Holy Ghost himself, said back to me "You are going to have to home school her."  I said I'd think about it.   However, that night, The Scout Master came home from work and said, "Honey, I had the impression that we need to home school E."   That about had it bound up for me.  Until....

We had a meeting at her school.  See she has an IEP (individualized education plan, for those of you not in the know about such things). They required a meeting for us to meet her new councilor and talk about the "plan" for her and how school would  I had been worried because we are talking about the 6th grade.  How can I teach the 6th grade?  They addressed my major concerns and I felt good about sending her to public school.  However, in the back of my mind the impression that the Spirit had left on my heart, nagged at me.  I knew what I really was supposed to do.  I just wasn't ready to except it.
