We had a very busy day today.... (Warning: there is an insane amount of photos in this post).

We started out the day by getting up early and driving over to the state park so that The Scout Master could participate in the S.W.A.T. 5K run. It's his first since high school (so about 16 years or so). He had a great time and did a great job, coming in 7th in his class with a time of just under 34 minutes).

Giving us the ready to go.

Crossing the finish line

Feeling good, but lookin' tired after the race.

When the race was finished we played at the beach there for a few hours and had a picnic lunch as well. We discovered snail after snail, eggs of what we think where frogs, tadpoles, and empty shells to collect. There aren't any pictures of this part of the day because well, I was busy applying sun screen, bug spray, and keeping the kids from drowning.

Later that evening, we had the opportunity to attend Girl Scout Night at the local ball field. Not only did we get to go to the game but E was part of the color guard for the National Anthem. Her scout leader gave E and Ky a gift in a brown paper sack. Inside was the world of baseball it's self!! A new baseball with a permanent marker for signing, and a box of Cracker Jacks! Ky and Bee got painted on tattoos while we waited for E to do her thing, and made it back to our seats just in time to see her on the field. We had food and fun, until the thunder and lightening! Then there was about a 2 hour delay in the game. Which all 7,075 patrons (you know except the ones that had left already) were trying to stay dry under the awning. We did have some ice cream so it wasn't a total loss. They were able to get back at the game and our home team lost, but one and after extra innings. Afterwards the kids got to run the bases on the field. Bee wouldn't got though, she was scared of the mascot. We didn't make it home until 1AM.

(third from the left, she has no flag)

Bee's Lady bug.

Ky's fiery baseball.

Bee didn't like the fireworks. Too loud!

The three kids waiting to run the bases.
They look like little stair steps right in the middle.

We had a great day and we all went to bed as soon as we got home and our heads hit the pillows.
