Zoo Boo

We had a pretty busy day today. This morning we went to Civil War Days at the local library. We were only there for the last hour or so because of a bad experience at Cracker Barrel. But anyway, we had a good time and made button spinners and service medals. We were read the book Dadblamed Union Army Cow which amazingly enough is based on real life events. The kids enjoyed it but unfortunately, even with 5 entries in the drawing, we did not win the book.

Later that night we went to ZOO BOO. It was a very fun time. Businesses set up decorated canopies all through the zoo and pass out coupons and candies to our little trick or treaters. This year with all that has been going on we didn't have the time to make new costumes and I didn't really feel like going out to purchase new ones either....so we dug some out of the dress up box from years past and went as what we had.

Emma was the Snow Queen
Kyle was Buzz Light year
B was a bumble bee (we got her a costume 40% off at Cracker Barrel)

Amazingly enough, this year these costumes actually fit. When in past years they had to be pinned and rolled to make them fit!

Here they are at Zoo Boo

This is what B did the entire time we were there.
Fear not, The Scout Master and I held her bag open at
each candy opportunity.

It has been a long day for us all. Good Night!

Aww--the kids are so cute in their costumes! Nice way to reuse them, too!
