Last Night

The Scout Master and I........wait for it..............went to a Scout Dinner. I know, I know.......crazy!! It was a promotional dinner for a summer camp. My hubby's troop isn't going there this year, but it was a way to get to know some of the other Scout people here, and a FREE dinner that I didn't have to cook! Plus, we got to go by ourselves thanks to a wonderful babysitter. It was nice to see the Scout Master in his element and for me to find out more about the uniforms and what not. We had Italian Beef Sandwiches (which gave me really good heart burn around 3AM this morning), barbecue chicken, pasta salad, chips, and water. Not fancy but tasty. I took our picture and here it is. I loved being able to go on a scout date with my Scout Master!

See how much he loves scouts?

While I was getting ready for this dinner, Emma and Kyle were at school and Bridget was running around my room. She has a fascination for my make-up and keeps getting into my green concealer (beauty tip - green concealer hides the red, like pimples and such, while yellow concealer hides blue/purple, like under eye circles and bruises). Well, she was very tired because it was way past her nap time and she finally laid down on my closet floor. When I found her like this:

For those of you wondering what is on her face......it's eyeliner. I don't know where she got it!
It must have been on my dresser because I found a plastic storage container with the Scout Master's manuals inside it pushed up to the dresser and several other things, that used to be on my dresser, on the floor. Too bad after all of this I had to wake her up to get her changed. Poor thing!

Wow 5 Days

5 days seems to go by pretty fast. I didn't realize that it had been that long since the last time I blogged. I guess when the Scout Master is around I forget to blog because it seems to bother him. Not sure why, humm?

But I do have to brag on the Scout Master a little bit today. Why you ask? It is because he is very good at fixing things (when he get around to it, that is). I have to give him some lea way there too because who has time to fix things when you are working, going to school, being the scout master, and trying to spend time with your kids? However, shoveling here is like fighting a losing battle. He shoveled every night for a week and still every day he had to do it again. So I called up my mom and got her and my dad to get out the old snow blower from my grandpa's house (he has been gone like 2 years and had multiple snow blowers, just like he had multiple cars). This was the smaller one that didn't work, I guess that's why he got a new one. Even so....the Scout master spent a few hours on it and got it running!! It isn't the best thing in the world but it IS better then shoveling and shoveling and shoveling......(you get the picture). Since we have moved to the frozen tundra we have been fighting the never ending battle of the snow (when I say we, really it's just the scout master......I don't fight with it.....I just wish I didn't have to leave the house in it.....though if I didn't then I would be stuck in the house all winter.....that would make me crazy!). Anyway, here he is with his "new" toy (he calls it a snow pusher more then a blower because it doesn't have a fancy funnel to shoot the snow).

He is such a good man, he cleans the driveway and worries about things that I wouldn't even think of worrying about. He makes a good living so that I can stay home with our children (yes, I am crazy, I didn't know what I was getting into, LOL!) and he has good common sense. Even when he doesn't want to do something he usually does because, "who else would do it?" Yes, I know sometimes he seems rude.....but he just has social stills that I (and most people) just don't understand!

Well, that's all for this morning. More sometime soon (I won't say tomorrow or tonight because who knows when I will be able to have this much time again).

They Had the Sense!

School is canceled for tomorrow!! Yippee!!!! That means I might get to sleep in!! Just wanted to let you know!

Finally, a Snow Day!!

If you are reading this blog at all you will know that lately I have been a little more then upset with the school system around here for NOT having the sense to cancel school when the weather has been dangerous. Well, FINALLY, we have been spared the scary drive to school because they canceled school. Why you ask? Because of the two feet of snow that is out there and the ridiculously cold temperatures! Which basically means that I won't be going anywhere but it is nice that I have the option to stay home because I don't have to go out and get the kids from school!! It's about time someone talked some sense into the guy (or gal) that makes that decision! Here is a picture that I took this morning at our back door. I stuck the stick down until it hit the deck and here is the reading. Yep, 14 inches of cold white fluff and more (up to 12 inches) expected for tonight! I wonder if they will have enough sense to cancel school again tomorrow. I doubt it!

How Deep is Your Snow?

Ours is this deep:

The yard sign with our house numbers.

When the Scout Master opened the garage.

From the back sliding door.

The Scout Master shoveling the drive way so we can get to church tomorrow!

Just in case it isn't canceled.....but it is supposed to snow more tonight so it might have been in vain!

Feeling Better

Hurray, I am finally feeling mostly back to my "normal" self. I just can't dance around yet. I might even sleep laying down tonight (when I get my spells, I sleep sitting up to keep my equilibrium even). Since I was feeling better I got a few things done (translation = that means that I took down my Christmas decorations today).
Getting the decorations down was the reason for some crying in our house. It seems that Kyle wasn't ready to say good bye to Christmas and insisted that it was coming again! LOL!! It was cute and sad so I did it while he was at school.
Then made dinner. It was nice to eat at home. The Scout Master has taken us out the last few nights, since I hadn't been feeling well (doesn't he take such good care of me?). After dinner the Scout Master went to his Round Table meeting for scouts and I did a few things.
I cleaned up the table while helping Emma with her spelling words (which she complained about). Changed over the laundry. Swept and mopped the kitchen floor after doing the dishes and listening to the girls in the tub. Gave a bath, finished the floor, added to my play list, and blow dried Emma's hair while Kyle was in the tub. Oh, it was a busy night and now I am tired.
I have been trying to hard to keep up with this house to keep it clean. I will tell you that the island in the kitchen is the bane to my existence because EVERYTHING ends up landing on there and we haven't found a place for everything just yet soooo I can't even find a home for it. Oh, well. The only room upstairs that is a mess is the master bedroom with the laundry (some clean and some dirty) everywhere. Other then that the kids are keep up with their rooms and I am working on the living room and the kitchen constantly. The family room downstairs is looking pretty good but the storage room and the office/sewing room are in terrible shape!! I guess I can't do everything.
I see that I am droning on.....so I will go for now. Just wanted to thank all of you for your prayers on my behalf. And let everyone know that I am feeling better and back to my daily grind.

Mixture of Things

It's been a few days since I last was on here. More and more I feel like I don't have anything to say. Also I have been unwell. I hate to say "sick" because dizziness isn't really being "sick" it's just not feeling right. So I have had one of my spells, mild this time.....which is good but the mild ones usually last longer then the terrible ones. So I am not completely back to myself yet but......since I don't have to move much to type I thought this might be a good day to catch up one a mixture of things that I have had on hold (you know, for when I had more time).

Remember a few posts ago I said I had won a give away? Well, I finally got it on the 31st and it is sooo adorable, just right for who I was giving it to!

Then remember when I said I had a funny story about Kyle that I needed to write about? Well, here it is:
The other night after sending the kids to bed (this was right before Christmas) the Scout Master and I were in the basement watching a movie. When the movie was over we came up stairs and started checking on the kids before we hit the sack. Well, Kyle wasn't in his bed, but this is pretty normal we usually find him in Emma's room or in our bed. But he was in neither on this particular night. So the Scout Master and I started searching. His room, his closet, under the crib in the girl's room, various places, even in the basement (kids are stealthy sometimes you know). But he was no where to be found. So we started over there aren't that many places you can hide in this house.......we start to panic. As the panic set in we checked the doors and the Scout Master went into Kyle's room again. I hear him say that he found him. So I run to his room and still don't see him! Where I shouted in a whisper? There the Scout Master pointed.

Ah, there and all I could do was laugh and run for my camera. My flash must be really good because it looks like we have the lights on in his room and we didn't. The only light was from the hallway! Why he was there we may never know.

Did I ever tell you that I write for a web site? I do and I need to get to doing it now. If you would like to read some of my articles go here.
