Animal Crackers Go To Space & The Science Fair

Earlier this evening we ate an early dinner and headed out to the science fair. Emma had entered a project (she is in first grade and it was voluntary, only the 4th and 5th graders had to do it, so they were the only ones really "judged."). We did a little project on what temperature water freezes faster. It must have been an original thought because we were the only ones with this particular project (great idea the Scout Master had, just don't tell him I said so). Anyway, they interviewed her today about her project and then the parents were invited to see them tonight. We got there and looked around at all the projects. Some were interesting and some well........we not. One of the grand prizes went to a girl who wondered "Is the average cat left pawed or right pawed." There were no pictures on her presentation board, humm......tell me she isn't going to grow up to be the cat lady! Anyway, when we got to Emma's board we pointed out that she got a ribbon (you know for participation, since she wasn't being judged) and she was happier then a wart on a toad. Here are some pictures of Emma at the Science Fair.

As you can probably tell from these little ditties she now looks like this:

because that other front tooth (that had been hanging there all sideways and snaggle-tooth looking) finally came out, with a little help from Mom, Dad and Grandma on Sunday afternoon.

Tonight I am sitting here with B knowing that she isn't going to go to bed (let's face it if you nap until 4PM you aren't going to go to bed at 7PM). So I was watching her with her animal crackers and here is what she was doing with them:

Maybe she is conducting her own science project with the hypothesis "What happens to animal crackers when they are put in a toy rocket and sent into space?" I know you will all be checking my blog every day to find out...

PS Today is day 3 of 5 of The Scout Master being off of work without pay. We haven't gone crazy yet, but there has been work being done. Pictures will follow of the work that we have done this week. If we don't end up going crazy first!
